Standard plastic identity cards, driving licenses, ATM cards, and health cards globally follow the ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 (CR80) form factor:
- Physical Width: 85.60 mm (3.370 inches)
- Physical Height: 53.98 mm (2.125 inches)
- Corner Radius: 3.18 mm (rounded corners)
- Digital Resolution @ 300 DPI: Exactly 1011 × 638 pixels
Handling Encrypted e-Aadhaar & Identity PDFs
When customers download electronic identity documents (like e-Aadhaar), the PDF is encrypted by the issuing authority. The universal password structure for e-Aadhaar is:

Two Common PVC Printing Workflows
Workflow A: Direct Inkjet PVC Card Trays (Epson / Canon)
If your center uses an inkjet printer with an official PVC card tray (e.g. Epson L805, L850, L8050 or Canon G570):
- Place two blank printable inkjet PVC cards in Tray Slot 1 (Front) and Slot 2 (Back).
- The software arranges the front and back card images with 8mm horizontal spacing to match standard dual-slot tray templates.
- In the print dialog, select Media Type: "CD/DVD or Card Tray" and set Scaling to 100%.
Workflow B: Glossy Photo Paper + Pouch Lamination
If you do not have a dedicated card tray:
- Print the side-by-side layout on 180–230 GSM glossy photo paper.
- Cut along the outer 1px black border using a paper cutter or scissors.
- Fold the front and back faces together along the center dividing line.
- Insert into an 80–125 micron thermal PVC pouch and pass through your hot laminator at 110°C–130°C.
Critical Print Setting: Avoid "Fit to Printable Area"
The number one reason for incorrectly sized card prints is the browser's print dialog scaling setting:
- ❌ "Fit to Page" or "Fit to Printable Area": The browser artificially shrinks the layout by 5% to 8% to fit arbitrary margin rules, resulting in a card smaller than standard CR80 dimensions.
- ✅ "Actual Size" or "Scale: 100%": Keeps millimeter dimensions exact to the millimeter.
